The Gobi is a ceramic sconce shaped as an inverted cone, its surface covered in a bold sculptural leaf texture. Designed as an uplight wall sconce, it projects soft light upward - casting a luminous halo against the wall and drawing attention to the distinctive relief of the clay surface. The Gobi strikes a considered balance between warm natural materiality and contemporary form.
Every Melzer Studio light fixture is individually hand-finished and studio-made using 3D clay printing - a proprietary additive manufacturing process in porcelain and stoneware. Ceramic lighting brings a warm, natural texture to any interior, and each piece carries the subtle individuality of the hand-finishing and kiln-firing process.
